JEDEDIAH SMITH REDWOOD STATE PARK – The park was is named after the explorer, Jedediah Smith who was the first white man to explore the interior of northern Ca. He was part of a remarkable two-year trapping expedition which began in 1826.
DEL NORTE COAST REDWOODS STATE PARK – was first land was one of the first land acquisitions of the state park system. The Pacific Ocean at its west boundary . through old growth redwood forests and into Mill Creek Basin and the west fork of Mill Creek.
TOLOWA DUNES STATE PARK – 4,000 acres of dune, forest, and a freshwater pond complex unique to the state of California. Surrounding the West Coast’s largest estuarine lagoon, Lake Earl Coastal, located along the Pacific Flyway.

Smith River California – This fertile land – located in the far northwest corner of California – is home to less than 900 residents, but produces about 95% of the world’s Easter lily bulbs – making it the Easter Lily Capital of the World.
Smith River is known as California’s last wide river is known for crystal clear waters, redwood trees, and is home to a run of huge, bright King Salmon, Steelhead, Rafting and other water sports. Smith River is about 15 miles north of Crescent City, CA.
StoutGrove Trailhead – is directly across the Smith River from the Jedediah Smith Campground; if you’re staying at the campground you can just walk across the seasonal footbridge to the grove. It is about 2.8 mile from US Route 199.
Howland Hill Road located deep within Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park near Crescent City. The gravel road is well-maintained but driving on it can be a heart-pounding experience. Starting in Crescent City or follow Stout Grove directions.
